Summer Style By Marilyn
Marilyn Monroe is the ultimate style icon and her look is the definition of timeless! Not a year goes by that someone doesn’t walk the red carpet channeling her style, or a magazine doesn’t do a fashion spread inspired by her. This year is no exception…whether it’s the Dolce & Gabanna ads, or the TV show Smash, or movies like My Week With Marilyn, it seems she is everywhere! In addition to her amazing signature hair and makeup, her style is definitely one to pay attention to. Here are some summer classics we all should add to our closet, courtesy of Marilyn herself!

Kentucky Derby Fashion
I’m not a huge sports fan, but one event I always look forward to is the Kentucky Derby! It’s been happening every year since 1875 and is steeped in tradition. My favorite part, of course, is the fashion…namely the hats!
Everything from the chic to the absurd is seen at the derby and I love that practically anything goes that day as far as head-gear is concerned. Think that one lady’s hat is funny? After a few mint juleps I’m sure you’ll be loving it! Take a look at the hats had me saying, “Well, I do declare!”

Nautical Notion
Summer is all but here and I don’t know about you, but the ocean is calling my name! As I anticipate time on the beach, I can’t help but be drawn to nautical fashion…not only is it chic, but it has this retro vibe that I cannot resist! When I’m wearing navy and red I can picture myself sipping sparkling water on a yacht with Audrey Hepburn. And is anyone else excited that palazzo pants are back I’m style?! I am practically living in them this season!
This trend is an easy one to pull off: try color blocking with blues, whites, and other complimentary colors…then toss in a scarf or some stripes! Wearing too many nautical themed accessories at once will look too costume-ish so just reach for one or two at a time!
